The career opportunity:
Hopelink’s Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts position is focused on providing personal, donor-centered attention to Hopelink’s dedicated, established base of major donors. The Development Officer will engage in face-to-face stewardship, cultivation, and solicitation of donors between $5,000 to $15,000. Hopelink’s dynamic development team is focused on providing donor-centered stewardship to a donor base of more than 25,000. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, experienced in fundraising and will take a creative innovative approach to donor engagement. This Senior Development Officer possesses outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Works under the direction of the Individual Giving Manager.
Examples of what you will be doing:
Take initiative to independently manage through cultivation and stewardship, a portfolio of approximately 120-150 current major donors and donor prospects.
Create stewardship plans for each donor with a focus on active engagement that facilitates deepening and lasting relationships to secure gifts through face-to-face meetings and calls.
Support budget development with the identification of targeted asks through personal cultivation, campaigns, or events within the fiscal year.
Actively meet with donors by setting up tours, engaging in phone conversations, emails and personally invite donors to events.
Inform and engage portfolio through gift impact reports, letters and/or newsletters, and community engagement events.
Provide leadership to the individual giving team with donor segmentation, donor appeals and developing collateral to educate donors on non cash giving and other giving opportunities.
Build out streamline processes for effective donor research / wealth screening of major and mid-level donors.
Support audience development, list management, and identification of ask levels for donors for giving campaigns.
Work in partnership to develop, implement, and continue to refine the major donor communications plan, strategy, and acknowledgment process that fosters supporters’ connection to Hopelink and generates and encourage supporters’ enthusiasm for Hopelink.
Assist development team with fundraising event support, including guest and table captain recruitment and Pacesetter communications and stewardship for Hopelink’s annual Reaching Out Luncheon. Provide additional assistance with other relevant events, including but not limited to, Farm Fresh Feast, donor recognition/appreciation events, and major donor Cornerstone gatherings.
How you will be compensated: Hopelink is proud to provide meaningful paid time away from work and an affordable, comprehensive benefits package.
Compensation: $36 - $37.50/hour Depending on Experience.Up to 10 paid vacation and sick days annually and 10 paid holidays,
Plus up to 7 paid float days available to use immediately; dependent on hire date and hours/week

Requirements
Minimum of 5+ years of direct experience in nonprofit development/fundraising; experience in midlevel or major giving or corporate giving gift acquisition and successful donor stewardship.
High-level interpersonal skills, sales proficiency and strategic thinking to cultivate lasting partnerships and drive revenue.
Confident in making five figure+ donor asks by building donor relationships through stewardship and portfolio management.
Knowledgeable and engaged with current industry standards and giving trends.
Proven expertise in donor research and wealth screening best practices.
Self-starter who takes initiative to drive projects from beginning to end in accordance with a strategic plan.
Exceptional communication skills - ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with potential and current funders.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
Experience with donor management software/databases (Raiser’s Edge preferred).
Ability to travel to off-site work locations for donor meetings or events.
